Among Us Update Info When The Airship Is Coming

Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the new Airship map in Among Us. This will become the fourth map in the game, and it's part of a totally free update for people who own Among Us already. The map is inspired by another InnerSloth series, the Henry Stickmin games, as the airship belongs to the Toppat Clan. With anticipation so high, fans are eager to hear more about the Airship's actual release date.

The Airship was revealed during The Game Awards 2020, and the teaser video showed off the Airship's exterior and several interior locations as well. It will also be the biggest map in Among Us so far, which is good news for players who are getting a bit tired of running The Skeld, MIRA-HQ, and Polus over and over. Polus, the last map to come to Among Us, released in November of 2019, so it's been a while since players could explore new locations.

Among Us made waves again when it released on the Nintendo Switch within a week of the Airship being revealed at The Game Awards 2020. Not long after, some players discovered an exploit that allowed them to try the new Airship map early. This seemed to indicate the map was ready for release, so why hasn't InnerSloth updated Among Us with the Airship yet? There's always the chance they're waiting for an important date to arrive.

Officially, the Airship has been given an "Early 2021" release date. This has led to a lot of speculation about the map's actual release, with a lot of theories floating around. InnerSloth has even poked fun at this (see top image), with players guessing Valentine's Day and other important dates. Beyond an early 2021 release date for Among Us' Airship, though, nothing else has been officially confirmed yet.

However, it's possible the Airship map will release alongside the Xbox version of Among Us, which is also slated for a 2021 release. Another theory is that the Airship will drop on June 15th, to coincide with the 3-year anniversary of Among Us' release, which seems a bit too far away. Most likely, the Airship map will drop sometime in the next few months - and it should come out by April or May at the very latest.

It's important to remember that InnerSloth is an extremely small indie studio, so creating and perfecting a new map will take some time. Until more news drops regarding the Airship map in Among Us, everyone will just have to be patient - and perhaps take advantage of some of the newest fan-made mods to keep things fresh for now.
