An Instagram user has found a bizarre way to cosplay multiple Among Us characters at the same time. The social deduction game has taken the internet by storm despite being largely ignored when it released in 2018. The game has reached such incredible amounts of popularity that the developer cancelled a sequel to focus up on developing the current game. Among Us, like the similarly explosive Fall Guys before it, owes much of its success to its adorable, minimally designed characters. The astronauts in Among Us are small, beanlike creatures, decked out like Skittles in bright primary colors. Like in Fall Guys, players can purchase cosmetic accessories for their astronaut, including hats, and even little pets that can follow them around. While players are mostly interested in Amo...

Among Us How to Look Busy as an Imposter

Among Us How to Look Busy as an Imposter

Blending in with the crewmates by appearing busy helps impostors look less sus in Among Us. Here are some tips and tricks to do so successfully.

Among Us How to Look Busy as an Imposter

In a game of deceit like Among Us, any suspicious behavior can be an instant red flag. The crewmates will be constantly on guard as they go about their predetermined tasks, on the lookout for any behavior they find sus. While waiting for the right opening to eliminate one of their fellow astronauts, impostors need to act no different than them.

Those that are able to maintain a façade of innocence will not only gain the trust of their enemies, but also have an alibi to defend themselves when the body is discovered. To do so, there a few ways that the killers can put up a more convincing act. Here are several tips to keep in mind while prowling the Skeld, HQ, and Polus in search of victims.

The Dos and Don’ts of Acting Like a Crewmate in Among Us

Among Us How to Look Busy as an Imposter

The most common method of blending in with the crewmates is to pretend to complete tasks alongside them. Stand for a few seconds and wait for the taskbar to increase to fool those in the vicinity. It’s a great way to stealthily pull off a sabotage because standing in the middle of a hallway while opening up the menu will look suspect to the others. However, there are a few things impostors shouldn’t do while faking tasks. Visual tasks, such as the medbay scan, garbage removal, and asteroid shooter, provide proof that players are innocent so they cannot be faked. Instead, focus on doing tasks that take some time, like starting the reactor, or ones that are easy to mess up, like the card swipe. Also, keep track of what tasks have been faked already. If another player witnesses someone doing the same task twice, it’s a dead giveaway they’re faking.

One action impostors and crewmates alike can perform is analyzing the security features. The cameras, vitals, doorlog, and admin map all provide valuable data on what’s happening on the map, whether it be where players are located or if they’ve died. Crewmates have a good reason to monitor them because it can help them track down the killers. Murderers also get mileage out of them, as they can give the whereabouts of potential victims. Watching cameras or checking admin is something beneficial to the good guys, so they won’t immediately suspect anyone who does so. This makes it a productive way of looking like a team player and drawing away suspicion

Though the baddies aren’t given the option to complete tasks, they are able to contribute to ending crises. 02 depletion and reactor meltdowns will result in a game over for the good guys if they don’t fix it in time and it will also give the impostors something to do that will make them look like they’re contributing. Doing so will help them construct their alibi, as those that arrive at the scene might be more easily persuaded into vouching for them. Causing blackouts or disrupting communication are other sabotages up their sleeve and can similarly be used to help them look innocent.

One action that can appear similar when both sides do it is searching for bodies. Crewmates that finish their tasks, or like to play detective, will scout each room out in search of their defeated allies. Impostors can do the same, only to instead find easy prey to eliminate their competition. However, there is a dead giveaway that culprits need to keep in mind to not appear sus. The traitors are typically given more sight range and can use this to their advantage; especially when the lights are broken and the crewmates’ are severely diminished. This boon could turn into a bane if any witness the impostor peaking into rooms for victims while the power is out, as this is an action only they can do during this period of time. When triggering blackouts, they should pretend to have reduced sight range as well, as that will make their act more convincing. While others may have a hard time seeing it with the lights out, the cameras are completely unimpaired, so be extra cautious when in those areas.

Among Us Theory What Impostors Really Are

Among Us Theory What Impostors Really Are Among Us' dastardly Impostors terrorize crewmates with various forms of killing and sabotage, and fans have theories about their origins and motives. The Impostors that give Among Us its name and central gameplay hook are, by design, a mysterious bunch. On the surface, they're nearly identical to Among Us' colorful crewmates, but Impostors exhibit certain strange and terrifying properties. Due to the game's lack of overt story, it's unclear what exactly Among Us' Impostors are, but fans have a few compelling theories. Unlike normal crewmates, Impostors have the ability to slink through vents, which - unless crewmates are small enough to do this, too, but simply have no need to - suggests they have some kind of shapeshifting ability. This would also explain Impostors' ability to open up a large mouth at the waist of their spacesuits and stab victims with sharp tongues. It's possible Among Us' crewmates also ha...
