How to Play One Chance in Among Us (Custom MiniGame)
In the One Chance custom mini-game for Among Us, Impostors only get one round to kill. After that, players continually meet to vote someone out.

Though it has experienced something of a decline in the past few weeks, Among Us still has a dedicated following, and, while players wait for the next update from InnerSloth, they may be looking for new ways to keep the game fresh. Modding is always a popular option, and there are many mods currently available that will add roles for crewmates, overpower the Impostor, or change the object of the game. If players do not want to change their game too much, they can instead use house rules and existing settings to create a custom mini-game. Many of these have been shared with the community in the last few months, including the extremely popular Hide and Seek game mode and The Gauntlet.
One new game mode players can try is called One Chance. While many of the Among Us custom mini-games limit or eliminate Emergency Meetings to focus on tasks and kills, One Chance is solely about meetings and deduction. In this game mode, the Impostors are only allowed to sabotage and kill until the first body is found and reported. After that, the crewmates must continually and systematically vote players out until either the Impostor or the crewmates emerge victorious. This is a much faster version of Among Us that will require Impostors to really sell their lies and crewmates to be very persuasive to their peers. Here's how to play One Chance in Among Us.
How to Play One Chance in Among Us

Like other custom game modes and mini-games in Among Us, players should only attempt to play this game mode with people they know and can trust. This mode requires a high level of cooperation, as there is no way to enforce everyone play nicely and follow the house rules. There is also a chance for players to get upset at being voted out, which can cause real issues if not everyone is on board with the mini-game. For best results, players should reserve this mode for lobbies with close, trusted friends.
The rules to One Chance for Among Us are simple:
- The game begins as normal; crewmates complete tasks and Impostors sabotage and kill.
- Once the first body has been found, a crewmate must report it.
- Players may not skip voting and must always vote to eject someone.
- Once a character has been ejected, players must immediately call another meeting and vote someone else out. This is repeated until either Impostors or crewmates win.
The game ends when either all the crewmates or all the Impostors have been voted out and the other team wins. This game mode also encourages players to really work on their arguing and lying skills, which will be useful when they play another classic match.

While there is no way to ensure no one skips voting, players can make a pact to eject anyone who abstains or skips the vote next. This way, there is still some way to enforce the rules and give a penalty for inaction.
There are a few settings lobby hosts will want to adjust to help enforce the rules and make the game mode more fun or challenging. These include:
- # of Impostors: 2 or more
- Kill Cooldown: 10 seconds or fewer
- Emergency Meetings: 8-10 depending on lobby size
- Emergency Meeting Cooldown: 0
- Confirm Ejects: Off
- Anonymous Voting: On
Players are encouraged to tweak the settings based on their group's needs and play style. For example, some groups may choose to turn off Anonymous Voting or leave Confirm Ejects on for comedic or dramatic effect and to increase the tension. Other groups may want to eliminate the Kill Cooldown altogether or increase kill distance to give the Impostors, who will always be outnumbered in this mode, a head start. Still, others may want to increase or decrease discussion time to add a sense of urgency. Limiting everyone's vision can also be a nice challenge, making it more difficult for players to see a kill or a body right away. Ultimately, groups can modify this mini-game to suit them.
